This MOD has been done for DenisF from Israel. Well, he has utilized memory of a GF2 and he has modified the original bios and he updated it to 64Mb.
About the performance under 3DMark2001, he won more or less 300 points extras. Actually, he has 3 more samples. The nex MOD will be a V5 5500 with 128Mb. 'GREAT!!!' 8)
About the mod v5 5500 with 128Mb, I would recommend to utilize mem of 5ns like the utilized in some prototype V5 5500 AGP4x! Then, with a good Heat Sink it would work to 200MHz totally stable. With this mod, we would get a Fill Rate of:
NORMAL V5 2GPU [(166MHz*2Pixel)*2GPU]=664MP/s
MOD MEM v5 2GPU [(200*2)+2GPU]=800MP/s
I think that the final performance woulb be very interesting, not?
As I remember that Hank Semenec changed 5ns SD-RAM on his V56k. The VSA-100's on v56k are on latest silicon A3 and they are able to rise up the 183MHz very easy. I was able to run my V56k on 200MHz stable
Rising frequency on four chips board rise performace really good
I had fillrate around 1550-1600 MP/s. But I usually don't run my baby on this freq. Her performace is enough for me. I like playing old glide games on 8xFSAA

uvazoval jsem i o 5ns jenomze na tom voodoo jsou pameti co maj vic vyvodu... napadlo me vymenit to vsechno, prisel jsem na jednoduchej zpusob jak to predelat
A není to tím, že na V4 jsou 32bit moduly (4x32=128bit), kdežto ty na tvojí M64 jsou jen 16bitový? (4x16=64bit)

takže jsou taky 16bitový (navíc DDR, který jsou i pinově nekompatibilní)
Proto píšu musí to být 128bit karta s 32MB a 4 moduly.
vyrobit 32b modul je asi o hodne drazsi nez 16b?
To si nemyslím, ale čím míň modulů, tím vyšší kapacitu musejí mít (a tím jsou dražší - často i víc, než dva poloviční; je to většinou novinka a nevyrábí se v takových kvantitách)

Na MSI GF2MX jsou 4 moduly o celkové velikosti 32MB, skoda ze jsem ji pred mesicem prodal , dokazali chodit kolem cca 220MHz
